Fathers Death
Queen Victoria's father died on Janurary 20, 1820. Her father was Edward "Duke of Kent." His death was important to Queen Victoria's reign because this made Victoria heir to the throne. Without her father's death Victoria would not be as powerful as she was (Queen). -
Power in England
Queen Victoria came into power of England on Janurary 20, 1837. She gained control of the entire British Empire. The era of her reign is commonly know today as the Victorian Era. Victoria is most associated with her ruling of England (Zworykin). -
First Candain Railroad
The first Canadian railroad was built by Champlian and Saint Lawrence Railroad. Inorder for people to get from one place to another this railway was neccasary becuase roads were poor and any transportation by water could be done in winter. Queen Victoria inherited the throne from her uncle King William IV after his passing. Her coronation took place in Westminister Abbey, and was a very viewed event. It was said that there were four hundred thousand people in London just to see this life-changing event (Queen). -

The purchasing and drinking of alcohol became illegal in 1851. This law was repealed in 1934 after being enforced for 83 years. This law was called a temperance, or the abstinence of drinking alcohol. It was thta after this law was passed there was a sudden increase in volience and crimes (Maine). -

Many people believe that Thomas Jefferson invented the first light bulb, but it was actually Henricg Global. Global was actually a German watchmaker which obviously has nothing to do with light bulbs. He decided he would use a glass bulb and inside he put a bamboo filament (How). -
Husband Dies
Prince Ablert died on December 14, 1861. At the age of of 42 he was pronounced dead with typhoid fever. Typhoid fever is a bacterial infection of the intestinal tract and occasionally the bloodstream, and is very uncommon. After his death Queen Victoria became very unsocial and depressed, and this casued her to be unfavorable to people. But eventually she moved on and got over the death of her beloved husband (Death). -
"In God we Trust"
The saying "In God We Trust" wasn't always on coins like it is today. It was first seen on a coin until 1864. At first it was added to only two cent coins, and as we see today was added to all US money. The government thought it would be a good idea so everyone would be unified within their religion (History). -
Empress of India
Queen Victoria became Empress of India in 1876. At this point in time England was at its peak of power, and even Victoria herself found a special love for India and their culture. Queen Victoria ruled India until 1901, which is the year of her death (Victoria). -

This skyscraper is the first one in the world. It was originally used as a home insurance building. The buliding stands ten stories tall which is equalivent to one hundred and thirty eight feet. The building only lasted forty-eight years after being demolished in 1931 (First). -
Golden Jubilee
Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee took place on June 20, 1887. A Golden Jubilee is a celebration for being in control for fifty years. Sadly Victoria could not celebrate this point in her life with her husband, due his death. She enjoyed sharing this experience with the public, and she toured France (Queen). -
Diamond Jubilee
Ten years after her Golden Jubilee Queen Victoria celebrates her Diamond Jubilee, A Diamond Jubilee is a get together to celebrate sixty years in power. This event was held in St. Paul's Cathedral, and was on Thanksgiving (Queen). -
Death
The death of Queen Victoria was devastating for many people. Her death was expected because she was becoming ill. On the morning of Janurary 22, 1901 she experience multiple small strokes, and eventually passed away. Queen Victoria, as well as her husband, are buried in Frogmore Mausoleum (Queen).
