Project class begins at the beginning of the new semester.
-
In this time period I though of different project ideas and tried them to see which one would work.
-
This is the approximate time where I made the for sure decision about what my project was going to be.
-
In this phase I planned my project and worked on the design of the cannon for future construction.
-
In this step, I beganto study the history of the canno and summarize it into a PowerPoint.
-
I worked on the research portion of the project in this timespan.
-
By this time, the research portion of the project was nearly completed minus a few last minute touches made later. On this day I also purchased the cannon supplies like PVC, wood, and blackpowder.
-
On this day the cannon was assembled and painted.
-
The fuse, an essential part of the cannon is bought on this date.
-
On Mother's Day, my dad and I made an attempt to fire the cannon but had poor results due to not compacting the paper inside the cannon tight enough. The target is not affected.
-
On these days i worked a bit more on the research portion and rehearsed it various times.
-
On Memorial Day, the cannon is fired again after slight modifications involiving compacting the paperinside the cannon and building pressure. It is a sucess and punctures the target with a glass marble.
-
The night beforethe presentation, the PowerPoint was converted to a Preziand the cannon video was uploaded to MyBigCampus to prepare for the presentation.
-
On this day my project was presented, bringing a conclusion to the class.
