    Founded by Reverend Howard Hyde Russell in Oberlin, Ohio.The ASL was a new Political movement in America that fought against the consumption of alcohol. It was a huge supporter of the Prohibition era and believed that, "temperance was the natural state of humans."

    The 18th amendment is ratified and 36 U.S states vote believe America should be "dry". Also that the ban of alcohol would be beneficial to the American people.

    Also known as the Prohibition Act. All sale and manufacture of Alcohol was made illegal. And thus, the dry era had begun

    Just because alcohol was made illegal, didn't mean people stopped drinking it. Bootleggers and other dealers such as the mob, became very wealthy from selling home aid alcohol or " moon shine ".

    Since the ban of alcohol. Numbers showed that there had been a rise in gangs and violence in almost every U.S city. The bootleg business was so successful that gangs had to kill each other to be king pin.

    Studies from NSDUH, show that 59% of people between the age of 21 and 35 consume alcohol on a regular basis. The U.S government collects 5.6 billion dollars in sale tax every year. If you compared these numbers to the 1920s era, you would know that during the prohibition era the U.S government lost a ton of money. For a country headed in to a Great Depression, every dollar is needed. Thus, besides the rise in gangs and other violence, the end of prohibition was near.

    FDR signs the Cullen Harrison act, making the sale and manufacture legal. Moreover, the 21st amendment was installed officially ending prohibition.
