Considered by many to be the most violent event in Capone's career, the St. Valentines Massacre was the killeing of seven rival gang members. On Valentines Day in 1929, several thugs from Capone's gang staged a "police raid" at a rival gang's wharehouse. The thugs dressed up as cops and put seven men up on a wall. They then opened fire on the men with Thompson submachineguns, killing all seven. No one had ever seen anything like it.
