    28th President, led the US through WW1 and helped negotiate a peace treaty that included a plan for the League of Nations. It was rejected but he received the Nobel Prize for his peacemaking efforts.

    Gave citizens the right to vote for their senators directly instead of the state legislature.

    Prohibited the manufacture, sale, or distribution of alcohol; it was later repealed because it created more problems than it was intended to solve.

    Gave women the right to vote, which made the US more democratic in allowing more of its people to vote.
