This was an act made to stop the monopolies of the time and prescribes free competition in the market.

he was a very influential president in the time period because he helped reform many things such as trusts and pass the meat and food inspection act.

Pure Food and Drug Act, Meat Inspection Act

This law made all of the food had to pass a thorough inspection to make sure that it was safe to eat. The meat inspection act forced all livestock to be looked at before slaughter.

president Taft

President Taft was very big into foreign policy, helping Latin American countries and East Asian relations while keeping many of Roosevelt's policies.

16th amendment

Allowed Congress to put an income tax on the people of the United States.

President Wilson

He was unlike the other two presidents in the progressive era a Democrat, this means that he did not support women's suffrage and black American rights. He started to practice segregation. He also founded the league of nations and led the country in World War 1.

17th amendment

This amendment changed how the voting of senators worked allowing them to not be elected by the state legislator but by the people. and only allowed that there will be two senators from each state.

18th amendment

Jan 16, 1919

this amendment was known as the alcohol amendments because it made the use of alcohol illegal throughout the united states.

19th amendment

Aug 26, 1920

This amendment gave women the right to vote.
