  • Coal Strike

    I was a strike in which the mine workers of America struck for higher wages, shorter work days, and their union. This strike was threatening because it could shut down the winter supply of fuel to major cities. This strike would be leading up to fostering efficiency.
  • Newlands Reclamation Act

    This law funded irrigation projects for the dry lands in the American western area. This would help the social welfare of people because more people living in these dry areas would get water.
  • Created Department of Commerce and labor

    It was a cabinet department which did not live so long, where the United States government was controlling the excesses of bigger businesses. This was creating economic reform.
  • Northern Securities v. United States

    It was a case heard by the supreme court which discussed stockholders in the Northern railroads who had formed a monopoly. This security that was placed in the North was enforcing economic reform between the businesses.
  • United States Forest Service

    The service was created to protect the future trees. They focused on the health, diversity and productivity of the Nation's forests and grasslands. This was part of fostering efficiency for future generations.
  • Food and Drug Administration

    Helped to protect consumers who were being given bad food and drugs. Falls under protecting social welfare because it was helping the people.
  • Meat Inspection Act

    It is an American law which was created to make sure that meat is slaughtered under sanitary conditions, and makes misbrand meat a crime to sell to people. This protected the social welfare of the people, making sure they were eating clean meat.
  • Bureau of Mines

    This was a government association which researched and got information on the extraction, processing, and conservation of mineral resources. This helped with fostering efficiency most of all.
  • Children's Bureau

    This focused on the well-being of children. It's first efforts was to lower the Infant mortality rate and attempt to change the number of children dying under the age of one. This would be effecting the social welfare of the children.
  • System of National Parks

    This act was passed to protect the national parks and monuments. This was made to foster efficiency and promote social welfare of people and the land.
