  • Coal Strike 1902

    Workers striked for 3 days about higher wages and shorter hours.
    This event falls under creating economic reform because it is the people fought against the wealth of big business for the balance in wages and money.
  • Newlands reclamation act

    Allowed the goverment to divert, retain, and transport water to arid lands in the US, about 20 states. This falls under fostering effiency because it created more jobs and oppourtunities in previously dry states. Its more efficent because the water was then brought into states that lacked it and made jobs easier and resources more abundant.
  • Created Department of Commerce and Labor

    Created as a chamber to control excess of big business. Falls under creating economic reform because it is the government acting for their average people instead of helping the big businesses take over.
  • Northern Securities V. United States

    Ruled in the supreme court 5 to 4 against the stockholders of the Great Northern and Northern Pacific railroad companies who had created a monopoly. This falls under creating economic reform because it proved that the government did not favor the big companies and they in fact acted in favor to dissolve them and their success to create other oppourtunies for US people
  • Food and Drug administration 1906

    Regulated food and drug companies to no longer lie about the quality and additives to their products. This falls under promoting moral improvement because the truth and improvement in the products would improve the the lives of the people through consumption.
  • Children's Bureau

    Created to investigate all matters related to child life and wellfare among all classes of people. This falls under promoting moral improvement because it causes adults to be more aware and cautious of all childrens quality of life therefore improving it greately with the reportings of misconduct.
  • Federal Reserve Act

    Provided the nation with a safer, more flexible, and more stable monetary and financial system. This falls under creating economic reform because it endured the stability of the economy further than what was previously offered.
  • Sixteenth Amendment

    allowed to levy an income tax without apportioning among states or basing it upon the US census. This helped create economic reform because it helped balance the finances of the country including people and big businesses.
  • System of National Parks

    Created to maintain national parks and monuments within the hands of the government. This falls under promoting moral improvement because it makes the people happier knowing that their land is being saved and preserved as well as protected from the potential damage from expanding reckless industries.
  • Keating Owens Child Labor Act

    Prohibited the sale in interstate commerce of good produced by factories who employed children under the age of 14. This falls under promoting moral improvement because many children were injured and even killed due to working in too dangerous of conditions at too young of an age. This helped people feel better about big companies knowing that they would stop employing the young children and they would then be at less risk.
