    United states court (Supreme court) applied a strict interpretation of the commerce power. Northern Securities court began expanding their interpretation and bought stock from other companies.

    Workers striked for 3 days on higher wages and less working hours. I think that this event falls under ¨creating economic reform¨ because the workers are trying to get fair compensation from big business owners like Andrew Carnegie
  • Newlands Reclamation Act

    authorized the use of federal funds from public land sales to pay for irrigation and land development projects.
  • Creative Department of Commerce and Labor

    investigated U.S. steel, which was created in 1901. They were worried about the Anti trust lawsuit so they secretly met with the U.S. steel workers and sorted the problems out under the radar. this was called the ¨Gentlemen´s agreement¨ and helped regulate big businesses
  • United States Forest Service

    controlled lumbering on federal lands. added more than 100 million acres of land to the protected national forests. made 5 national parks and 51 wildlife preserves.
  • Meat Inspection Act

    required federal inspection of meat sold through interstate commerce and made them set the standard for cleanliness in meatpacking plants.

    responsible for protecting public health by controlling and supervising our food. that includes food safety, dietary supplements and over the counter drugs.

    monitored the activities of mining companies, expanded the national forests, and protected waterpowered sites from private developments.

    Taft came up with it. This investigated and publicized the problems of child labor.

    developed by Roosevelt´s concern for the environment and for protection of the wild areas.
