    Developed by Charles Katz, math-matic was devolped to be an improvement of Fortran as well as being designed for the UNIVAC I & II.

    COBOL (Common business-oriented language) was designed by Grace Hopper for business, finance, and administrative systems for government programs.

    Known as 'list processing', lisp was developed for easy manipulation by John McCarthy and is used in artificial intellignece programming.

    RPG is a high-level programming lanugage that was used for business and was developed by IBM.
  • LOGO

    Logo was a programming language that was uesd to teach students how to program. It was an easy to use software and was developd by Daniel G.

    Raymond F. Boyce and Donald D. Chamberlain designed SQL to manage data in a relational databasd management or stream processing system.
  • PASCAL

    PASCAL was know for it's program that caused it to achieve popularity. It was developed by Niklaus Wirth to encourage good programming practices and data structuring.

    Dennis Ritchie developed C to run computeer operating systems but proved to be powerful and flexible and could be run for different applications.
  • BASIC

    BASIC (Beginners All-Purpose Symbolic Instrucion Code) was developed by John G. Kennedy. It was designed for GUI applications.
  • ML

    ML (Standard metalanguage) helps in the development of theorem provers. It was developed by Robert Milner and others at the University of Edinburgh.

    ADA was developed by Dr.Jean Ichbiah. It was designed for large, long-lived apllications and embedded systems.

    C++ was designed to create large-scale applications and was developed by Bjarne Stroustrup.

    An object-oriented program, Python was designed by Guido van Rossum to be simple and easy to use as a scripting language.

    Developed by Microsoft, Visual Basic is a third-generation programming language that was designed for its COM program and is easy to use and learn.

    Known as 'Hypertex Processor', PHP is an open source scripting language that can embed into HTML. Developed by Rasmus Lerdorf.

    Java was designed to look and feel like C++, being concurrent, class-based, object-oriented, and was designed by james Gosling.

    Delphi was a program that was developed by Borland to help run Windows v3.1 and Windows '95.

    Designed by Brendan Eich in order to interact with HTML pages. It was standardized in the ECMAScript language.
