    Conception
    The process of conception starts when the ovum comes out of the ovary this is called ovulation.Then the ovum and the sperm fetilize in the fallopian tube. This process is called conception. Then lastly,the ovum attaches to the wall of the uterus,this is where a baby is formed (implantation).

    Embryonic Stage-weeks 4-8
    -Breasts begin to swell.
    -Pressure on bladder from enlarging uterus results in need to urinate more frequently.
    -Possible nausea (''morning sickness'').
    Fetal Development
    -Size:About 1/4 inch (6mm) long as mouth begins.
    -Face, eyes, ears, and limbs take shape.
    -Bones begin to form.

    Fetal Stage
    -Breasts become firmer and fuller, may ache.
    -Nausea, fatigue, and frequent urination may continue.
    -Abodomen becomes slightly larger. The uterus is about the size of an orange.
    -Weight gain may total 2-4 pounds (0.9-1.8 kg).
    Fetal Development
    -Size: About 1 inch (25mm) long as month begins.
    - Nostrils, mouth, lips, teeth buds, and eyelids form.
    -Fingers and toes almost complete.
    -All organs present, although immature.

    Fetal Stage -Abdomen continues to grow slowly.
    -Most discomforts of early pregnancy,such as morning sickness,usually gone.

    -Can suck its tumb ,swallow, hiccup, and move around.

    Fetal Stage
    -Enlarged abdomen becomes apparent.
    -Slight fetal movements felt.
    -Increased size may begin to affect posture.
    Fetal Development
    -Size: About 6 1/2-7 inches (16-18cm) long, about 4-5 ounces (113-142 g) as month begins.
    - Hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows appear.
    - Teeth continue to develop.
    -Organs are maturing.
    -Becomes more active.

    Fetal Stage
    -Fetal movements sensed as strong kicks, thumps, and bumps. Some may be visible.
    - Weight gain by the beginning of this month may total 10-12 pounds ( 4.5-5.4 kg).
    Fetal Development
    - Size: About 8-10 inches (21-25 cm) long, about 8-12 ounces (227-340 g) as month begins.
    - Fat deposits under skin, but fetus appears wrinkled.
    -Breathing movements begin.

    The baby is able to live outside the womb,Though it may need a great deal of nedical help.

    -Increased size may affect posture.

    - Size: About 10-12 inches (25-31 cm) long, about 1 1/2-2 pounds ( 628-907g) as month begins.
    - Periods of activity followed by periods of rest and quiet.

    Fetal Stage
    -Discomfort may result from increased size. Backache,leg cramps, shortness of breath, and fatigue are common.
    - Fetal kicks may disturb the mother's rest.
    - At the beginning of this month, weight gain totals about 18-20 pounds (8.2-9.1 kg).
    Fetal Development
    Size: About 14-16 inches (36-41 cm) long, about 2 1/2-3 pounds (1.0- 1.4 kg) as month begins.
    - Weight gain continues rapidly.
    - May react to loud nosises with a reflex jerking action.
    -Moves into a head-down position.
  • Month 9

    '' Lightening'' felt as the fetus drops into the pelvis. Breathing becomes easier.Other discomforts may continue.A total weight gain of 25-35 pounds (11.3-15.9 kg) is typical.
    False labor pains may be experienced.Fetal Development-
    Size About 17-18 in (43-46cm) long 5-6 lbs( 2.3 -2.7 kg) Weight gain continues.Skin becomes smooth as fat deposits continue.Movements go down as the fetus has less room to move .Gets disease fighting antibodies from mothers blood,Goes down pelvis,ready for birth

    Fetal Stage
    (40 weeks-280 days)
    At the end of 40 weeks the baby's weight shift downward and is called lightening. The baby moves into the birth canal.Most births the fetus is upside down or head down for a easier delivery. The baby is less active because of little space. In some cases the baby does not turn and comes out feet first and is called breech. Breech will require the doctor to deliver cesarean. After 6 weeks the mothers abdominal and uterine return to near normal.
