    Missed a Period.
    The baby is the size of a pin head.
  • Month 2

    Baby: About 1/4 inch.Face, eyes, ears, and limbs take shape.
    Mom: Breasts begin to swell, Pressure on bladder from enlarging uterus results in need to urinate more frequently.
  • Month 3

    Baby: about 1 inch. Nostrils, mouth, lips, teeth bud, and eye lids form.
    Mom: Breasts become more firmer and fuller, may ache. Nausea, fatigue and frequent urination may continue.
  • Month 4

    Baby: About 3 inches long 1 ounce as month begins. Can suck its thumb, swallow, hiccup, and move around.
    Mom: Abdomen continues to grow quickly.Appetite increases.
  • Month 5

    Baby: 6 1/2 to 7 inche long, about 4-5 ounces as month begins.
    Mom: Enlarged abdomen becomes apparent.

    Baby: Size about 8-10 inches lon, about 8- 12 oz.
    Mom: Fetal movements sensed as strong kicksthumps, and bumps. Some may be visible.

    Baby: About 10 -12 inches long about 1 1/2 to 2 punds as month begins. periods of activity followed by periods of rest and quiet.
  • Month 8

    Baby: Size about 10 -12inches long, about 2 and a half to about 3 pounds as month begins. Weight gain continues rapidly.
    Mom: Discomfort may result from increased size. Backache , leg cramps, shortnes of breath, and fatigue are common. Fetal kicks may disturb the mothers rest.
  • Month 9

    Baby: about 17 - 18 inches long and 5-6 pounds as month begins. Weight gain continues until the week before birth. Acquires disease fighting anitbodies from the mothers blood. Descends into the pelvis, ready for birth.
    Mom: "Lightening" felt as the fetus drops into the pelvis. Breathing becomes easier. Other discomforts may continue. A total weight gain of 25-30 pounds is typical. Fals labor pains may be experienced.
