Triple Alliance Begins

Germany Austro-Hungary and Italy.
Renewed every five years until 1915 (Italy's doublecrossing) although it was officially dissolved in 1914
Germany and AH agreed to aid Italy if France attacked and Italy would aid Germany with the same terms.
Italy also agreed to aid North African territories. -
Reinsurance Treaty
Germany attempted to reassure Russia (in light of the DKB failure) that they were stronger together to avoid war on two fronts.
They agreed to hold benevolent neutrality if either was attacked. -
The Second Mediterranean Agreement
Bismark acknowledges Russia's ambitions in Bulgaria and agreed never to back Bulgaria against the Russians.
Britain at the same time made treaties with Italy and Austria to stop conflict. -
Franco-Russian Alliance Begins

Russia agreed to send 780000 troops to France's aid of Germany attacked.
France agreed to send 1300000 to attack Germany if she attacked (or Austria with her support.)
Strengthened in 1899 and 1912 -
Entente Cordiale
Britain and France settled colonial differences and created the backbone for further alliance.
This came in 1906 when military discussions began but Britain never promised support. Only consultation. -
Triple Entente Begins

Triple Entente
A British-Ruski agreement agreed on some commitments and a settlement of colonial dispute.
Supplemented with agreements with Japan and Portugal and the eventual joining of Italy via the Treaty of London (1915) it became incredibly strong.
