  • Sugar Act

    The Stamp Act was the first direct tax on domestically produced and consumed items in america. The Sugar act set a tax on sugar and molasses imported into the colonies which impacted the manufacture of rum in New England. The Sugar Act also taxed other foreign goods. The colonists in return protested and set a trade embargo against england. England repealled the sugar act because English merchants were taking lage hits to their wallets.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    American colonists were traveling east of the appalachian mountains which caused tension between them and the remaining French, and indian people that were there. So, Britain thought it was best if the Americans didn’t go there because they didn’t want another war to spark, and cost Britain even more money. And the colonists felt slighted because the first war was sparked because Britain wanted to go further east, but now they are telling them that shouldn’t be done. So what was the point of the

    The Stamp Act was established because British wanted to raise the revenue of American colonies. The Stamp Act was the first direct tax on domestically produced and consumed items. They felt they were being treated unfairly by the British. But, they are more upset about the king and parliament taxein them without their consent(Taxation without rpresentation).
  • Boston Massacre

    A standoff between an angry colonist/patriot mob and A squad of British soldiers. The events of the Boston Massacre were widely publicized, it contributed to the unpopularity of the British regime in America and played a major part in the events that led to the American Revolution. It Also led to the formation of the Sons of Liberty.
  • Boston Tea Party

    A plotical protest in which a group called the sons of liberty threw 342 crates of tea in to Boston harbor. In response the british shut down Boston harbor untill all 342 crates were paid off.
