    The Proclamation of 1773 was issued to keep colonists on the East side of the Appalachin mountains.

    Sugar act passed
    The sugar act was put in the place of the molasses act as it was about to expire. The difference of the two was 6 pence per gallon tax on molasses and 3 pence per gallon on sugar.
