    Step 1: Creating Conversations
    Creating conversations around period stigma by creating/designing posters and putting them up around the school My Actions:
    - Gathering the information and images for the poster and providing it to Gurleen so that she could start designing it
    - Edit the final poster before sending it to approval to Mr. Armstrong
    - Book a meeting with Mr. Armstrong and have the poster approved to hang around the school
    - Hang the posters around the school after having them printed
  • Step 2: Buying Materials with Taking it Global Grant

    Step 2: Buying Materials with Taking it Global Grant
    Buying for materials such as baskets, pads, tampons for the remaining washrooms with our Taking it Global Grant
    This will ensure that menstruators have access to pads and tampons when in an emergency. This is something we will be doing until there are pad dispensers in all washrooms including the gender-inclusive washroom. My Actions:
    - Put all of the supplies purchased into the washrooms including the gender-inclusive washroom
  • Step 3: Gender-Inclusive Washroom

    Step 3: Gender-Inclusive Washroom
    Filling in a proposal template for a pad/tampon dispenser for the gender-inclusive washroom and getting it approved by Mr. Armstrong
    Through our proposal being approved, we will know what the additional steps will be in order to get the pad/tampon dispenser My Actions:
    Fill in the proposal template
    Get it proved by Ms. Sidhu
    Get it approved by Mr. Armstrong
    Acknowledge what Mr. Armstrong has to say and proceed on to the next steps for getting the dispensers in the gender inclusive washroom
  • Step 4: Workshop - Period Stigma

    Step 4: Workshop - Period Stigma
    Coordinating and organizing a workshop to raise awareness of period stigma and to give an opportunity to next set of grade 11 Social Innovation students to take a lead on “Power of Periods within Jean Augustine Secondary School” as we will be leaving for post-secondary. My Actions:
    Create the groups for students and give one teacher representative to each group
    Create 2 activities for the workshop
    Get the activities approved by Ms. Sidhu
    Get the workshop approved by Mr. Armstrong
  • Step 5: Workshop Awareness

    Step 5: Workshop Awareness
    To make sure that students show up to the workshop we want to spend time to advertise. This will ensure that students are aware of the workshop and let the word go around. My Actions:
    - Go around to classrooms to inspire students to participate in this workshop
    - Create slides for the school TV’s
    Invite some teachers to the workshop
  • Step 6: The Final Workshop

    Step 6: The Final Workshop
    This would ensure that Power of Periods within Jean Augustine Secondary School would be continued and the initiatives would be carried on for the future to create bigger and better action. My Actions:
    - Put teachers and students into their designated groups
    - Present our initiative as an elevator pitch to participants
    - Conduct the two activities created
    - Conclude the workshop
    - Inspire students!!
  • Continuing Power of Periods Initiative

    Planning and spreading the Meeting
    Meeting with Grade 10’s and Grade 11’s interested in continuing Power of Periods at Jean Augustine
    My Actions:
    - Create student form for students to fill out if they are interested in the meeting
    - Go to classrooms to let students know about this youth leadership opportunity
    - Let them know when the meeting is etc
    - Give them the link to the student form if they are interested
  • The Final Meeting

    Have the meeting with the grade 11’s and 10’s who are interested to further pursue Power of Periods: Jean Augustine Secondary School
    Introduce them to taking it global grants and other
    Let them know about the different directions they can take with this
    Give them all of the informations such as Grants, proposals My Actions:
    - Talk to the students interested
    - Give them a break down of this initiative
    - Answer the questions of students
