    Three of the chiefs that signed it gave up most of the land that they had left.

    It was the deadline for the Potawatomi to leave their land.

  • Military starts to move the Potawatomi tribe

    September 4, 1838, militiarey forced 859 Potawatomi at gunpoint to leave northern Indiana for Kansas.

  • The made it to Osawatomie, Kansas.

    The Indians reached Kansas on November 2 and reached their new home on November 4, 1838.
