    Proclamation of 1763: This was issued on October 7th, 1763 after the seven years war, where Britain won and gained land in North America. It was known for prohibiting American colonists from settling west of Appalachia
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    Sugar Act: The sugar act was made on April 5th, 1764, it was made to try to change the attempt to steal and molasses in the colonies by reducing the previous tax rate and also enforcing the numerous rules. It was made by George Grenville.
  • Currency Act

    This was an act that regulated paper money that was issued by the colonies of British America. They made it because they wanted to try to Protect British merchants from being paid in undervalue colonial currency.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act: This act was passed on March 22, 1765. It was imposed on American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper that was used by them. Different things that were taxed were Ship's papers, legal documents, licenses, newspapers, other publications, and even playing cards were taxed

    Quartering Act: The quartering act started on May 3rd,1765, and this act required local governments of the American Colonies to provide the British soldiers with housing and food. It also required annual renewal by parliament.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act: Started on March 18th 1766, and expressed that the British Parliament's taxing authority would be the same in America as in Great Britain. Parliament had personally taxed the colonies for revenues in the Sugar Act, and the Stamp Act.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    Townshend Act: This was known as a series of laws passed by the British government. Charles Townshend signed the act. It was passed on the American colonies on July 15th, 1767 and this was where they placed new taxes and took away some freedoms from the colonists including the following taxes on imports of paper, paint, lead, glass, and tea.
