    The Play Station 1
    The first Play Station was originally meant to be a CD-ROM attachment, Super Disc, to the not yet released Super Nintendo. Many problems arose while attempting to actually make the Super Disc leading to the product never being released. However, a modified version was made by Sony in 1991, called the Play Station

    The controller created for the PlayStation was innovative. The controller was wing shaped, and the buttons were easier to access, all while the controller was still powerful.

    The Play Station 2
    The Playstation 2 was released in February of 2000 as a successor to the Playstation 1. In March of 2012, The PS2 was the best selling Games console, selling over 155 million units.
    The PS2 had the ability to read both CDs and Dvds and is backwards compatible with PlayStation 1 games, appealing to many people.

  • The Play Station 3

    The Play Station 3
    The Play Station was released in 2006 and was also offered in a lighter and thinner Slim version. The PS3 had innovated the idea of System Software, the ability for the operating system to be updated. Any Playstation 3 with an active internet connection would automatically check online for software updates everytime the console is started.

    The Play Station 4
    The Play Station 4 was released in 2013. The PS4 was built with an AMD x86-64 Accelerated Processing Unit to encourage more developers and support for the system unlike its predecessors. The actual development of the console began in 2008, only 2 years after the PlayStation 3 was released. In 2014, the PS4 topped the global console sales.
