candlestick phone
The inventor, Almon Strowger, was an undertaker in Kansas City in the late 1800's.A candlestick telephone is also often referred to as a desk stand, an upright, or a stick phone. Candlestick telephones featured a mouth piece (transmitter) mounted at the top of the stand, and a receiver (ear phone) that was held by the user to the ear during a call. -
Motorola DynaTAC 8000x
Martin Cooper a general manager for the systems division at Motorola, led a team that produced the DynaTAC 8000x, the first commercially available cellular phone small enough to be easily carried, and made the first phone call from it. It came out 1984 -
