    The 1st Persecution

    The 1st Persecution started with the great fire of Rome, Emperior Nero blamed the Christians. This Persecution lasted until 68AD. Saint Paul and Saint Peter were martyred in this 1st Persecution

    The 2nd Persecution

    This 2nd Persecution lasted until 96AD and John was exiled to the island of Patmos.

    Thw 3rd Persecution by Emperor Trajan the phrase "Christians to the Lion's" came popular and the Christians fled into the Catacombs. This lasted until 117AD

    The 4th Persecution

    The 4th persecution was caused by Emperor Marcus Aurelius in 161AD until 180AD. After 180 the Church was flourishing in Asia, Northern Africa, Europe and in the Far East.

    In 202AD up until 211AD many Christians suffered martyrdom by Emperor Septimus Severus.

    6th and 7th Persecutions

    Emperor Maximinus the Thracian started the 5th persecution in 235AD it lasted until 238AD. The 7th was caused by Emperor Decius it lasted from 249AD until 251AD. Many people were made martyrs. Determined to exterminate the Christians, Decius went all out on killing every Christian.
  • Jan 1, 1253

    8th, 9th and 10th Persecutions

    Emperor Valerian started thr 8th Persecution in 253AD and lasted until 260AD.Emperor Aurelian was responsible for the 9th Persecution in 270AD and it lasted to 275AD. In the reigns of Diocletian and Galerius in 303AD until 311AD was the worst and last persecution the 10th. But this persecution failed as had all the rest. Now Christianity is now the most followed religion.
