    Magna Carta
    The Magna Carta was one of the first documents in the English language to hold power and has shaped much of modern America's legal system. It was signed by the barons of England and King John I at Runnymede.
  • Mayflower Compact

    Written by the Seperatists who called themselves the "Saints" as a governing document for those in Plyouth Colony. It later added to the framework of American government. What it did was it provided a set of rules for them to live by.
  • Petition of Right.

    Petition of Right.
    The Petition of Right was sent from the parliament of england to King Charles the first, essentially restricting/prohibiting him from infringing on "specific liberties"... he signed it. Specifically the rights were on taxation and inprisonment withot cause.
  • Engish bill of rights

    Signed by William and Mary of Orange, it granted certain inalienable civil rights, banned Catholics from the throne, and made Prodestantism a religion.
  • Albany Plan of Union

    Suggested by Ben Franklin, the Albany plan of Union failed to unify the 13 colonies. This prompted the creation of "Join or Die".

    Faught between the French and British Colonies, with major battles including: the Battle of Quebec and Annus Mirablis, The British won and made 'Murica mad wif taxes

    Printed paper was taxed by the stamp act and made the colonists angry, prompting the chant "no taxation without representation".
  • Boston Massacre

    Killing 5 colonists, the Boston Massacrewas prompted by the Townshend Act and the Stamp Act. I forgot to do a description so this is awkward. Some snowballs were thrown and it snowballed (HAHAHA..thats not cool people died) from there into a giant fight where accidental shots were fired.

    Organized by the Sons of Liberty, The Boston Tea Party prompted 4 new acts onto the colonists.
  • Intolerable Acts

    These were the Act thingies that were in response to the the Tea Party thingy. Only British ships were allowed in the harbor, the soldiers had to be cared for, and only british officials can be tried in the colonial courts.
  • The first continental congress

    Lotta famous peoples like George Washington, Sam Adams, and Patrick Henry were there. They all agreed to boycott British Goods in Philly.

    The Second Continental Congress was in Philly and was where the DoI was created. They also decided to make their own currency there.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    Lexington Twas once a battle called Lexington and Concord. Britain and America were super mad at eachother and started to fight. Major Generals James Barrett and General John Parker were fighting. Paul Reveere counted some lamps and yelled that the British were coming.
