    in 1907 the scouting movement was founded by robert powell which allowed everyone to join the club and take part in experditions being a part of the club. the scouting movement was also worldwide so that everyone had a chance to take part in this expericnce.

    this was formed so that school knew all the health and saftey procedures needed to ensure the health of the pupils.

    This was published so that everyone had a clear understanding of the health and safety procautions that needed to be took when out in the countryside.

    After the kinder tresspass incident on the 24 of april they allowed people to roam freely on kinder scout after the three men died in after protesting to be allowed to walk through that part of the country side.

  • First UK Outward Bound Centre

    the first outward bound centre was opened in 1941 by kurt hanh. the centre is there to teach interpersonal skills, wilderness survival skills, and leadership skills through its courses also outward Bound operates 40 schools in various countries and reports serving over 200,000 students each year.

  • Kurt Hahn founded the DofE

    The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (commonly abbreviated DofE), is an award given for completing a programme of activities that can be undertaken by anyone aged 14 to 24.
    DofE programmes take between 1 year and 4 years to complete, depending upon the route taken. All programmes must be completed by the participant's 25th birthday. Around 300,000 participants are taking part in their DofE programme at any time in the United Kingdom. after being created by kurt hahn to provide OE for young people.

    has delivered leadership qualifications in mountaineering and climbing for candidates and centres from England since 1964. this is benifiting outdoor education because there are more people that can take classes out on a outdoor education trip and it also allows people to go out and get there certificates for mountaineering.
  • Pennine Way completed

    The Pennine Way is a National Trail in England. The trail runs 267 miles which is 429 km from Edale, in the northern Derbyshire Peak District, north through the Yorkshire Dales and the Northumberland National Park and ends at Kirk Yetholm, just inside the Scottish border. This is important because it was finally finished and reay for people to use.

  • 22nd March Lyme bay tradgedy

    On 22 March 1993, a group of eight schoolchildren and their teacher from Southway Community College, Plymouth were accompanied by two instructors from an outdoor centre on a kayak trip across Lyme Bay, on the south coast of England.As a result of a series of errors and circumstances, four of the teenagers drowned. The party had run into difficulties straight away as one kayak became swamped. The group was swept out to sea, where all their kayaks were quickly swamped.

    The AALA was created following the Lyme Bay canoeing tragedy in March, 1993 which involved a commercial organisation assuming responsibility for children's safety.     countryside agency formed in England was a statutory body set up in 1999 with the task of improving the quality of the rural environment and the lives of those living in it. The Agency was formed by merging the Countryside Commission and the Rural Development Commission. Its powers were inherited from those bodies.
  • 26th may glendriding beck drowning

    It is about the investigation into the death of Max Palmer in Glenridding Beck, 26 May 2002. Although this case involved a school trip, the lessons learned are applicable to other organised trips for young people, for example looked after and cared for young people or those organised by youth groups. This was important to OE because it once again brought new laws and acts into place for OE.

The school that took the class out certified a teacher who was not full qualified to go out and to a group of students out on a residetial without and course certificates and through bad judgements and not following procautions from the leader this lead to him allowing max to jump into a stream that was to powerful,deep and cold for him which then lead to the drowing of max. This

  • joesph leister from tradcaster grammer school died ptholing on a school trip

    A 14-year-old boy has tragically died while caving on the first day of a school trip.
    Joseph Lister was part of a group from Tadcaster Grammar School who were learning the basic principles of caving in Upper Nidderdale, North Yorkshire, on the first day of a school trip yesterday. This was consequence of parliment rushing into allowing children to take part in outdoor education.
