    The French and British were fighting over the rights to trade fur with the Indians. The French and Indians lost to the British who gained control over the 13 colonies. Ended with the Treaty of Paris.

    Conflict between Settlers

    The colonists and Indians fight over land in Ohio. The colonists are losing because they underestimate the Indians.

    The Battle of Tallen Timbers
    Anthony Wayne brings trained soldiers and the Indians are forced to retreat.
  • The Treaty of Greenville is signed

    The Indians sign the treaty which gives almost all of their land to the colonists in Ohio.

    The Battle of Tippecanoe
    Tecumseh and his warriors fight against the Americans but are unable to win. Tecumseh knows that they need allies.

    The War of 1812 begins between the Americans and British, The British had been capturing American ships and kidnapping our sailors. Tecumseh fought with the British to get land if the war was won. The Americans won and Tecumseh was killed in battle.

    American ships blockade the British Navy from crossing Lake Erie. They were unable to reinforce their troops or bring in new supplies.
