penelope also tells him about the suitors and what she does to trick them.Odysseus tells her about the cloths he wore so she can trust him.she knows right away he's telling the truth because she put a pin on odysseus before he left. she offers him a bath ans a foot bath. He says no to her offering unless there is a maid as old as him, for then he will have a foot bath.

Eurycleia gives odysseus the foot bath and notices how similar this old man and odysseus are. while giving him a foot bath she sees a scar odysseus had on his leg and figures out it is him. he stops her before she can say anything. he fills her in on some of the plan and she tells him that she wont say a word and will tell him which maids are loyal and which to kill

odysseus killed one suitor. the other suitors said the fallen guy is to blame so there shoulnt be bloodshed
