    The skis are believed to be invented in Norway in 200 bc from stone wall carvings of people with stone rods on their feet in Norway. The reason this is so important because skiing is a very popular sport today and is even in Olympics.

     "Svartedauen" goes through Norway
    The black death or "Svartedauen" to the norwegians was a plague that swept through Europe and killed more than 1 third of its population and was believed to have pasted through Europe from Oriental rat fleas on the black rats on merchant ships and could've killed all of Norway if not somehow stopped and most likely all the world if it had not been stopped from spreading making it a VERY important event to not only Norway and Europe history but also in some ways the world's.

    The Constitution of Norway is the second oldest written constitution in the world, the constitution was founded on the people for their human rights and made the 3 branches of government:The Norwegian Parliament, known as the Storting, with the legislative, budgetary and supervisory power; the King in Council with the executive power; and the judicial power lying with the courts.This constitution also protects ones rights to traditional knowledge and culture along with trademarks, ect.

    They oringalanly came to Canada for farming and land but after a few years of settlement found the land unfarmable on Newfoundland's coast and left leaving only their old homes and settlements as proof they came there.

    InfoThey settled in Iceland in 874 for land and exploration along with material goods and this is very important because if they hadn't Erik the Red wouldn't have found Greenland.
  • Vikings found Novgorod in Russia

    InfoThe Vikings found Russia this year and settled in the city of Novgorod and created the Ryurikid Dynasty until 1601 when it ended in and the Romanov Dynasty started.
  • Erik the Red finds Greenland

    InformationErik the Red discovered Greenland because his father was exiled from Norway and then later he was from Iceland and so he sailed west and found Greenland and was impressed with its green land and pastures then sailed back to Iceland with news of Greenland and soon him with a fleet of 25 ships started off to there with 500 people, food and animals, of these only 14 made it through and there they settled in Greenland.
