    Noam Chomsky

Chomsky has the ability to view information and situations without bias and then made comparisons to history and other societies. He was an avid Anti-War activist listing reasons for our involvement as the U.S. that ultimately are caused by greed and political gain. He also developed many theories about language that were not traditionally held. I best define him as someone who takes a critical dive into trying to understand the motivation and origins of human actions.
  • The Responsibility on Intellectuals

Chomsky publishes his Anti-War writings as a result of Vietnam and claims the war was a form of American Imperialism

  • Biolinguistics

Chomsky theories state the structure of language are biologically in the human brain and genetically inherited meaning that in all of us lie the ability of language and that it is not necessarily a learned skill but one we all have at birth. The attached photo will illustrate this concept and his concept of Universal Grammar. Lyons, John (1978). Noam Chomsky (revised) Harmondsworth: Penguin.
  • The Political Economy of Human Rights

Noam Chomsky and Edward S. Herman release a book detailing a contradiction in Foreign U.S. Policy and relations. The book compares media reactions to the Cambodian genocide and the Indonesian occupation of East Timor. The media portrays these events both differently based on who we are allies with and who is our enemy showing that something that is wrong will often have people try to justify or remove the spotlight just because certain countries are our allies and the media has a message.
  • Universial Grammar and Language Development

Chomsky develops a theory in the 60's about language saying that syntax and the speaking of a language to form sentences is the result of learning only language specific features and that humans have instilled in them a "Language Acquisition Device" that allows us to take these features and form sentences Source: Dovey, Dana (December 7, 2015).
