Germans went into a city north of Lille and had trapped the allies there. The allies fled to Dunkirk and did not think the Germans would follow them. The Germans ended up trapping the allies, having their backs against the sea.

After major German bombing, Britain sent ships to Dunkirk. The Britain ships carried 338,000 bombed soldiers to safety.

The Germans had got into France and took over Paris. Then, the French surrendered and Germany then got control of the whole Northern part of France.

Germany had started bombing Britain. Germany aimed for the bigger citties, like London to try and bring down Britain's morale. Hitler had then stopped attcking so he could move into the easter area.

Mussolini thought he should make a move, so he moved into North Africa. They went into Egypt because of their precious oil fields. Briain and Italy had stopped going at it and to wait to see what happens.

Earlier the Brithish fought back, but by 1941 the British went 500 miles across North Africa an took 130,000 Italian prisoners. Shortly after that, Hitler stepped in.
