Soviet/ German Nonaggression Pact
The Soviet Union and Germany signed the nonagression pact. The Pact would keep peace between them and stop them from attacking each other. -
Germany's Lightning Attack
Hitler transfered his army onto the border of Poland. He then started bombing at Poland's capitol, Warsaw. -
Soviet Troops Join Invasion
While Hitler was invading Poland, Stalin gave the okay for his troops to try and take over the eastern half of Poland and annex other near by countries. Stalin failed at this attempt and loss to Finland. -
Suprise Invasion
Hitler had a plan to take over many countries. His next aim was going to be on Denmark and Norway. He suprisingly attacked them and within 2 months both of the countries fell and were in the hands of Germany. -
Germans vs. Allies
Germans went into a city north of Lille and had trapped the allies there. The allies fled to Dunkirk and did not think the Germans would follow them. The Germans ended up trapping the allies, having their backs against the sea. -
Great Britain Helps
After major German bombing, Britain sent ships to Dunkirk. The Britain ships carried 338,000 bombed soldiers to safety. -
Germans Get France
The Germans had got into France and took over Paris. Then, the French surrendered and Germany then got control of the whole Northern part of France. -
Britain Gets Bombed
Germany had started bombing Britain. Germany aimed for the bigger citties, like London to try and bring down Britain's morale. Hitler had then stopped attcking so he could move into the easter area. -
Mussolini Gets Involved
Mussolini thought he should make a move, so he moved into North Africa. They went into Egypt because of their precious oil fields. Briain and Italy had stopped going at it and to wait to see what happens. -
British Fight Back
Earlier the Brithish fought back, but by 1941 the British went 500 miles across North Africa an took 130,000 Italian prisoners. Shortly after that, Hitler stepped in. -
Hitler Invades Again
Hitler goes and invades Yogoslavia and Greece. As a celebration, they put swastikas on the Acropolis. -
Operation Barbarossa
Hitler had made a plan to attack the Soviet Union. This plan was called Operation Barbarossa. The operation wasn a success. The Soviet Union was completely blind sided. -
Under Pressure
The germans put Leningrad under siege and they were then forced to surrender. They blew up all their food so they could barely survive. -
Atlantic Charter
Roosevelt and Churchill signed the document that stated Free Trade amongst the nations. It served a s a peace plan after WWII.
