declared that the colonist settlement could be established west of the appalachains.

This imposed a tax on all sugar imported to america.

The first direct tax on the colonist. It said that all legal documents neeed stamps.

When the colonists got mad and dumped the british tea into the harbor

this was held in Philadelphia were delegates form all colonies except Gorgia came. there they desided that they should send the king a petition explaining their greivances.

Coercive Acts

This closed the harbor and placed the boston gov. under british control.

The first time that the British soldiers fought with the colonist.

The congress immediatly assumed the powers of a central gov.the main actions was to create an army.

Resolution of Independence

Ritchard Henry Lee introduced it. This was not legally binding and was the first step in makeing the gov legal.

Declaration of Independence

Jul 4, 1776

Thomas Jefferson introduce it. THis was legaling binding and there was no condemnation of slavery. All states agreed in the making of it.
