    1:1 School

My Student Teaching experience was around the time that 1:1 schools were starting and the school that I was placed at had every student with a laptop.
  • Classroom Shells

I used software called Blackboard to set up my online course shell. From Blackboard I was able to post PPT's, reading assignments and other course materials and activities for the students to interact with. I also used software called Aplia to teach Accounting. Aplia was an online software that the students could submit all of their Accounting work online and would receive my feedback from our class page.
  • Apps

I created a twitter account for my classroom. On my classroom twitter account I would post daily what the objectives were for each of my classes, send out reminders for students and retweet interesting articles about the content we were engaging with. Other apps that I used was the remindme app in which I could push out information to my students and it would go directly to their phones.
  • Screen Sharing

We began to use software that would allow the students to connect their laptops to my projector screen in the classroom. This event drastically changed the interactions I was having with students. They were able to cast their work on the screen for the teacher and their peers to view and interact with. It was seamless and allowed the students to showcase their work and ask a large group questions when they were stuck much easier.
  • New Digital Tech

From 2018-Present I have advanced in my digital technologies. I have now allowed students to choose how they want to present their projects and students have used iMovie to film and edit a video, interacted with their peers asking and answering questions on FlipGrid, switched from Blackboard to the more interactive Google Classroom and have taught my students how to create and edit a podcast. This season has been good growth for my students with digital technologies.
