The Very Hungry Caterpillar
My first experience with reading that I remember began in Kindergarten when my teacher introduced the class to The Very Hungry Caterpillar. -
Advanced reading
As I advanced in school I also advanced rapidly in my reading ability, I was able to read at a 12th-grade reading level around 3rd and 4th grade. -
Series of Unfortunate Events
The Series of Unfortunate events is a series of books that got me very interested in reading longer books. It was the first series I had ever read all the way through -
5th grade
My teacher in fifth grade noticed how much I enjoyed reading and encouraged me to read more. She would often give me book recommendations that she thought might interest me. -
Research
Most of my educational reading came from me doing independent research on topics that interested me when I was younger, as well as reading textbooks in school -
Dad
I take a lot of my interests from my dad and so a lot of the things he read I would read also. Most of the content he consumed consisted of greek mythology or historical readings. -
Stephen King
Horror has persisted to be my interest when reading and throughout high school, up to today Stephen king has continued to be my favorite author. I learned a lot about how to be a good writer through a memoir that he wrote. -
Highschool
High school texts are obviously a bit more advanced. A lot of my reading during high school was educational and expanded my capabilities. I found myself researching vocabulary in readings often. -
College
Once I hit college, articles, journals, advanced textbooks, and such became my primary reading material. My vocabulary, reading ability, and knowledge is constantly expanding and testing my limits. -
My current reading experience
I still read a lot, however, with school, I find it hard to find the time. Most of the texts I read include educational texts, whether it be for school or my own interest. I also enjoy still reading entertaining books.
