    Harold and the Purple Crayon
One of the first books that I remember loving to read was this book. I remember wanting to have a crayon like Harold that would let me bring my imagination to life.

I remember when my elementary librarian read this book to us, i remember this book specifically because it sparked my curiousity with ocean life and I made my parents buy me a fish after reading this book!
  • Magic Tree House (series)

    Magic Tree House (series)
Fast forward a few years, I struggled with finding books I enjoyed reading and would hardly read at all. My second grade treacher introduced me to this series and I fell in love with them!
  • Holes

    Holes
I was introduced to this book in my reading group in second grade and I remember my teacher making this book fun to read with including various activites to make sure we were understanding what we were reading.
  • Harry Potter (series)

    Harry Potter (series)
The only reason I began to read this series is because I won the first book in a class raffel by chance! I very quickly finished the first book and begged my parents to buy the next ones.
  • The Giver

    The Giver
Middle school was the time where my reading intrest was pushed even further. Especially in 7th grade, I still have the copy of this book with my annotations from the class.
  • Of Mice and Men

    Of Mice and Men
I loved reading this book because our teacher would read a part of the book and then we would watch the film to compare and make interpretations of our own.
  • The Count of Monte Cristo

    The Count of Monte Cristo
This has to be one of my all time favorite books that I originally read my junior year of highschool. I cannot tell how many times i have read this book! I think its my favorite because it has a little bit of everything, suspense, action, the love triangle, etc.
  • Pride and Prejudice

    Pride and Prejudice
This is the book that sparked my interest in classical literature. I fell in love with Jane Austen and her form of writing and the class was always fun.
  • Hamlet

    Hamlet
Before reading this book, I had a negative mindset of it becuase I thought it was going to be boring and hard to understand. And although it was hard to understand it was because there were so many ways to interpret some of the passages. My english teacher that year was my favorite, for this section of the year he even dyed his hair blonde to get into character for Hamlet!
