    After The War
From the aftermath of The Vietnam War, Vietnam was ruined, Its infrastructures were destroyed, thousands of its poeple have been killed, not to mention the farmlands were polluted by American chemical warfare. This left Vietnam one of the poorest countrys. Many were then influenced in seeking a better life elsewhere. My grandfather included.

    Refugee Camps
There were many refugees after the fall of Saigon in 1975. Those who took to the ocean in tiny overcrowded ships were known as "boat people" and were prepared to risk everything. These boats were taken to refugee camps found in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, The Philipines & Thailand. Nearly a third of those thousands of these people do not survive. Luckily my grandfater including my uncle survived, and were taken to the Refugee Camp in Thailand where they spent 2 years there,
  • CANADA!

    CANADA!
Many await their turn to be sponsored into countries such as Canada, The United States, France & Austalia where they can begin their new life. After 2 years my grandfather and uncle spent in these camps, they were finally sponsored by a church in Canada. This meant food, clothes, shelther were all provided as well as employement and education until they became self sufficient.
