This is around the time when my parnets started reading me childrens books. There were no specific ones becasue I was still too young to care. -
Mom Starts reading The Giving Tree to me
My mom started reading The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstien to me and it became one of my childhood favoites and helped influence who I am today. I think she chose this book because of her love for nature and she wanted that same love to pass onto me. -
Started reading back to my mom and actually understood The Giving Tree
This is about when I started reading back to my mom and actually began to understand the meaning of The Giving Tree and this is when I started to be influenced by it. -
Read My Side of The Mountain
I really hadnt been reading very much in the past few years, because I was much more interested in sports and being active. It all changed when I read My Side of Then Mountain by Jean Craighead George. This book had one of the biggest influences in my life and showed me reading can actually be enjoyable. This book also reinforced my love for the outdoors. -
Began to actively read books similar to My Side of The Mountain
I liked My Side of The Mountain so much that I craved stories like it. Some of my other favorites at the time were: White Fang, Into the Wild, and Hatchet. -
Learned how to research on the internet
Being able to research on the internet was always my fathers strongsuit and it was very importaint to him that I learned how to as well. This is about the time when he would make me research anything I wanted or was interested in on the internet and report my findings to him before he would give me permission to go ahead and get or do what I was researching. -
Parents let me watch my first R-rated movie
My Dad and I watched Saving Private Ryan together and it showed me how voilent wars and the world can be and how brave the people serving our country are. I looked at them as heros -
Began reading again and found something I really enjoyed
After 5th grade I stopped reading again, not only because I grew tired of it but because it wasnt cool. It wasnt until 7th grade when I picked up a book again that I actually wanted to read. This series of books is called The Edgewood Chronicles. I enjoyed them so much I read all 5 books in the series. -
When I got really interested in Military Documentaries and Shows
I am not sure why but around this time I got really military documentaries, shows, and movies. This influenced what I wanted to read later on. -
After taking a break from reading I finaly picked up the book from which I got my name.
My parents had always encouraged me to read Trinity by Leon Uris not only because they took my name from the main character but because it's their favorite book. After taking another few year break from actually reading a book I decided to give Trinity a try. I really enjoyed it and now its actually one of my favorite books too! -
Read American Sniper
This past summer I read Navy Seal Chris Kyle's autobiography called American Sniper and I had always been very interested in the military and sometimes even concidered joining after school but this book amplified my interest. Now I love to read military autobiographies and I am on my third one in a couple of weeks.
