    This is around the time when my parnets started reading me childrens books. There were no specific ones becasue I was still too young to care.

    My mom started reading The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstien to me and it became one of my childhood favoites and helped influence who I am today. I think she chose this book because of her love for nature and she wanted that same love to pass onto me.

    I really hadnt been reading very much in the past few years, because I was much more interested in sports and being active. It all changed when I read My Side of Then Mountain by Jean Craighead George. This book had one of the biggest influences in my life and showed me reading can actually be enjoyable. This book also reinforced my love for the outdoors.

    Being able to research on the internet was always my fathers strongsuit and it was very importaint to him that I learned how to as well. This is about the time when he would make me research anything I wanted or was interested in on the internet and report my findings to him before he would give me permission to go ahead and get or do what I was researching.

    My Dad and I watched Saving Private Ryan together and it showed me how voilent wars and the world can be and how brave the people serving our country are. I looked at them as heros

    Began reading again and found something I really enjoyed
    After 5th grade I stopped reading again, not only because I grew tired of it but because it wasnt cool. It wasnt until 7th grade when I picked up a book again that I actually wanted to read. This series of books is called The Edgewood Chronicles. I enjoyed them so much I read all 5 books in the series.

    My parents had always encouraged me to read Trinity by Leon Uris not only because they took my name from the main character but because it's their favorite book. After taking another few year break from actually reading a book I decided to give Trinity a try. I really enjoyed it and now its actually one of my favorite books too!

    This past summer I read Navy Seal Chris Kyle's autobiography called American Sniper and I had always been very interested in the military and sometimes even concidered joining after school but this book amplified my interest. Now I love to read military autobiographies and I am on my third one in a couple of weeks.
