The first book I remember reading on my own was Cat in the Hat. I was proud when I could read this story by myself.

    Childhood Favorites

My love for reading began at a very young age. My grandmother was a remedial reading teacher, and she began to work with me before I started Kindergarten. There is not a time in my life that I can remember when I could not read. As a child my favorite book was Anne of Green Gables.

Favorite Book I've read in Classes I Teach

My favorite book I have read to a class I taught was Holes. When I was student teaching I did a book study with a 4th grade class that covered this book, and I loved it.

As an avid reader, I use the social media platform Goodreads on a daily basis. Goodreads is a book-focused website that helps you keep track of what you're reading and lets you write book reviews. Once you rate books or mark them as read, Goodreads will recommend new books for you to read.

Books I love as an Adult

As an adult, I enjoy reading all types of books. I do not have a specific genre that I gravitate towards. Harry Potter is an all time favorite. Some of my most recent favorites are The Nightingale, Project Hail Mary, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Where the Crawdad's sing, The Grace Year, My Best Friend's Exorcism, and The Midnight Library.
