  • Tasted something sour!

    Tasted something sour!
    At 12 months I ate a sour pickle and made a face beacuse I wasn't used to the bitterness of the food. This is an example of the Piager Sensorimotor Stage. I had experienced something new by using one my senses-taste. At this age we begin to learn about the world around us by using sight, taste, touch, and sound. <---- That is not me, just a picture I found. I wish I had a picture of this moment though! :)
  • I Began to Read

    I Began to Read
    At age 3 I began to read words and simple sentences and then quickly began reading full books. This is the Piaget Preoperational Stage. At this stage I began to represent things with words and images. I could comprehend language very well.
  • Began Making My Own Bed

    Began Making My Own Bed
    At age 4, after beginning preschool, I began to do some things on my own, such as realizing I need to make my bed when I wake up in the morning. This is the Eriksons Initiative vs Guilt Stage. I began doing something because I had to initiative to so my mom would no longer have to do it.
  • Chore Charts!

    Chore Charts!
    Around age 5, or when I was in kindergarten, I began to have to do chores and keep a chore chart. This is an example of the Kohlberg Preconventional Morality stage. In this stage children focus on their own seld interests and doing stuff for their own good. I wasn't doing chores for fun, but to avoid punishment and for some cash! A whole dollar a day if I did everything :)

    Being on Time to Different Classes
    Once I began middle school, I had to begin making sure I was on time to each class and using my passing periods wisely. This is the Kohlberg Conventional Morality Stage. It was required to be on time and I obeyed the rule simply because it was a rule .
  • Algebra is the life!

    Algebra is the life!
    At age 13 I began to understand the concepts in Algebra. This is an axample of the Piaget Formal Operational Stage. In this stage we begin to understand abstract logic and reasoning. Algebra would be an example of this because compared to normal arithmetic, it involves things we cannot actually see in real life. It goes alot deeper than 2+2.

    I began to talk back and challenge rules.
    When I turned 15, like a usual teenager,I began to have more conflicts with rules and parents. Nothing major, just the normal talking back and thinking we know everything. :) This is the Erikson Adolescence Stage. In this stage I began to have identity and role confusion. This stage involves testing what roles you can play and finding out who you are and can be.

    Stand up for others!
    Around age 15, I stood up for a girl at school is very low-functioning and is often made fun of. I realized how wrongly she was being treated and stood up for her on my own behalf. This shows the Kohlberg Postconventional Morality stage. At this time people begin to judge what is morally and ethically right and acting on that. In my example I realized what was right and stood up for what I believed.

  • Marriage!

    Marriage!
    Around age 25, hypothetically, is when I will get married! This is an example of the Erikson Young Adulthood Stage, which includes the concept of intimacy vs isolation. At this time people begin to create relationships or they feel isolated socially. So by getting married I have formed an intimate relationship with someone else, rather than feeling isolated.
  • Do good for the world!

    Do good for the world!
    Around age 45, I will do something good for the world around me. One thing that could be a possibility is establishing a foundation through Eli Lilly for autism research. This is the Erikson Middle Adulthood Stage. At this time people try to feel like they are doing something for the rest of the world. In this way they have a sense of purpose.
