  • Paganini- 24 Caprices for Violin, Op. 1

    Paganini's 24 Caprices for Violin, Op. 1 was first published by Ricordi in 1820.
  • Berlioz- Symphonie Fantastique

    Symphonie Fantastique was composed in 1830.
  • Chopin- Mazurka in B-flat, Op. 7 No. 1

    This is considered the most well-known mazurka of this set.
  • Robert Schumann- Carnaval

    Schumann's Carnaval was released in 1835.
  • Fanny Hensel- Das Jahr

    Fanny Hensel began composing Das Jahr in 1841. It is based off of the 12 months of the year.
  • Clara Wieck Schumann- Liebst du um Schonheit

    Clara Schumann's piece was written in June of 1841.
  • Wagner- Tristan und Isolde

    Tristan und Isolde premiered on June 10, 1865.
  • National Society for French Music

    The National Society for French Music (Societe Nationale de Musique) was founded on February 25, 1871.
  • Bizet- Carmen

    The premiere date for Carmen is March 3, 1875.
  • Brahms- Symphony No. 4

    Brahms began writing this symphony number in 1884. It was premiered in 1885.
  • Mahler- Symphony No. 1

    This symphony was composer in 1888. It premiered on November 20, 1889.
  • Debussy- "Voiles" from Preludes

    Debussy's Voiles was composed in 1909. The entire set of 12 Preludes was published in 1910.
  • Schoenberg- Pierrot Lunaire

    This piece by Schoenberg was composed in 1912.
  • Stravinsky- Le Sacre du Printemps

    Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring was premiered on May 29, 1913.
  • Schoenberg- Piano Suite, Op. 25

    Number 3 of Op. 25 was composed in 1921. The rest of this collection was composed in 1923.

    Symphony No. 5 was premiered on November 21, 1937.
