A form of popular music arising from and incorporating a variety of musical styles. It is characterized by electronically amplified instrumentation, a heavily accented beat, and relatively simple phrase structure. Bringing a new style of music that man people took liking to very quickly. -

In the 1990's many young teenagers started listening to street rap and it started getting really big. Artists like snoop dog, The Notorious B.I.G, and Tupac were all big rappers in the time period. Many people liked how it sounded and the vibes that it brought out and since then rap has been a big part of music for many years now.
