  • Originating from Italy, Emma Riggi is deciding whether or not to travel to America with her husband

    Emma Riggi is deciding whether or not to travel and live in America with her husband. She decides at this time in life, not to because her husband, at his point has a nice job farming for an older woman. Other reasons are because it would be to risky. She does not want to be detained from her husband for any reasons as he is the only other person she is traveling with. Also, she wonders if the free land and open jobs were just rumors
  • Ready for America

    Emma's husband lost his job nearly a week ago and during that period, they haven't eaten. They want to find land of their own in America and find a good supplying job that will keep them fed, and clothed.
  • Off the Ferry

    After the decision to come to America, Emma and her husband traveled the long journey and arrived in America. They went through the examination, luckily with ease. The items they brought only included a few shirts and pants (dresses for Emma), and two silk quilts that were sewn by her grandmother that she is hoping to sell.

    Emma and her husband have been inching their way west, but have settled for the time being on a small property with many other immigrants. Her husband has a job in a local factory whcih provides them enough money to live, but not how much they would like to earn.

    They traveled further west and settled onto the land of the Native Americans. They welcomed Emma and her husband with open arms, and a Native, Koa-Klo began to help them by teaching them about different plants and how to farm diffferent crops.

    The removal Act was put into Action and American forces forced Native Americans off of their homeland. Koa-Klux was no longer there to teach Emma Riggi and her husband and they are now no longer provided for by him.
  • All in America

    Emma's family has traveled over to America and now are living on the same land as Emma and her husband. They are now all settled in with good jobs, and other immigrants around them. Ever since the Native Americans were force out of their homeland, it has never been the same. The lviing style was much different than the Native Americans style. It was quiet when the Native Americans were forced out, but the quiet land was soon filled with many immigrants and is now overcrowded.
