    Moving West
    President Thomas Jefferson made the Luisiana purchase which doubbled the size of the United States. To Jefferson, westward expansion was the key to the nation’s health. He supported lower class people such as farmers because everyone seemed to depend on them. Jefferson believed that moving westward would be a good opportunity for the Nation.

    The telegraph was used to send electric signals across wires. a rough system was used in France. Samuel Morse began working on his version of the telegraph in 1832; he developed Morse Code wich is the alphabet in sounds. This invention helped people stay comunicated when they moved west.

The importion of railroads stoped after the Civil War. Railroads were used a lot during this time to transport goods, and basic needs from one place to another.

    radio comunicationAntonio Meucci was the first man to start an invention which now is known as a radio. Eveyone knew this inventionas as a wireless telegraphy. Meucci sent a wireless Morse Code message to a source more than a kilometer away. He continued to work on his new invention, and in 1897 he received the official British patent for the radio - which was really a wireless telegraph system at first.
