Mrs. Mellark (Peeta's mother) catches Katniss digging for food in their garbage cans, and tells her to go away. Peeta helps Katniss by burning the loaves, and then giving them to her, saving the Everdeen family from starvation, and giving them hope. -

Mrs. Everdeen helps Katniss by making her look nice for the reaping and letting Katniss use some of her old clothes that were special to her. Because Mrs. Everdeen's family growing up wasn't poor, their clothes were made nicely, so it is hard reliving those days compared to when her life after her husband died. -

Gale helps Katniss by taking Prim as she (Katniss) volunteers so her sister won't have to compete in the Hunger Games. When Gale takes Prim, it will help calm Katniss down for what she is about to do, and what is heading her way. -

Cinna helps Katniss with her costume for Opening Ceremonies. He makes her stick out, and stun the audience. This made a difference because Opening Ceremonies are the time for first impresions for the sponsors, and Katniss's costume certainly caught everybody's attention. -

Peeta helps Katniss when she says she recognizes the Avox girl. She really knew the girl from when she was hunting illegally in the woods, and the girl was on the run from the goverment but Peeta said that he recognized her too, as a girl who was in their grade from school, Delly Cartsright. -

Effie helps Katniss prepare for the interview by helping her learn more manners. Effie tries her best teaching Katniss posture, when to smile, how to phrase sentences, walking in a dress and high heels, eye contact, and hand gestures. -

Cinna helps Katniss realize what Haymitch has not pointed out about how to act for the interview. Cinna says that Katniss has good spirit, he tells her to answer the questions truthfully, and to remember how many people she has won over with her personality. -
Peeta Mellark Helps Katniss Everdeen
Peeta helps Katniss in his interview by saying that he was always in love with her--making them seem like "star-crossed lovers." By having a crush on each other, it would make sponsors want to see how far they will make it together in the Hunger Games. It will also make the Games more entertaining, which is what the Capitol is aiming to do. -

Rue helps Katniss by telling her there is a tracker jacker bee nest above her. Katniss was hiding up in a tree from Career Tributes, and was stuck up there, and thanks to Rue helping her, she was able to escape. -
Haymitch Abernathy and Sponsors Help Katniss Everdeen
Haymitch and Katniss's sponsors help Katniss because they supply ointment to treat her burns. Katniss got the burns from a fireball, and they really hurt, but she was trying not to show it. Not getting treatment for the burns would make her not able to move as quickly, which would result in her being a vunerable target for other tributes. -
Peeta Mellark Helps Katniss Everdeen
Peeta helps Katniss when he protects her from one of the Career Tributes. Peeta protects Katniss while she is getting the bow and arrows from Glimmer, who died from tracker jacker stings.
