(5) "License" means a current authorization permitting the practice of nursing as a registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, or advanced practice registered nurse. (Added 1979, No. 192 (Adj. Definition of "license"
VT added a definiton of what a license for Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and APRN is. This defines what prerequistes are required for all of the above licenses prior to obtaining them. Adding this affects all nurses as it requires us to complete professional standards as mandated by the state. If we did not have these standards met we would not be allowed to practice nursing. So far VT is one of the few states that does not mandate CEU's for nurses to keep their licenses.
