    Missouri was admitted as a slave state. Slavery would not be allowed in states north of the 36 30 lines of latitude. Maine was admitted as a free state.
  • The Comprimise of 1850

    California was admitted as a free state.
  • The Georgia Platform

    The north strictly enforced the fugitive slave act. The north stopped trying to ban slavery in new territories.
  • The kansas Nebraska Act

    Allowed kansas and nebraska to choose if they wanted slaves. Caused war to brake out.

    Destroyed all comprimises of the previous years. Dred scott sued in court. Slaves were declared property.

    Abraham Lincon won the election. Directly led to secession. SouthCarolina became the state to sucede from the union.

    They cut off railroads and fought in jonesborough. Sherman captured Atlanta.

    There was a 50 mile path of destruction. It ended in Savannah. They destroyed many southern factories.

    Camp for union soldiers. 13,000 union soldiers died in the camp.Prison commander was hanged for war crimes.

    13th admendment abolished slavery.
    14th admendment gave citizenship to freed slaves.
    15th admendement gave all citizens the right to vote regardless of race or color.

    He was a critic of acomedation. He veiwed it as simply accepting the racism of southern whites. He founded the niagra movement. He thought African americans should fight for total equality.
  • Plessy vs Fergenson

    It challenged jim crow laws. Plessy was arrested for sitting in a whites only car.
  • Luenia Burns Hope

    She was a person who strongly pushed for education. She worked in atlanta GA. She was an african american who wanted black education.
  • Alonzo Herndon

    President of atlanta life insurance. Atlanta's wealthiest black citizen.

    Act of denying the right to vote. Voters had to demonstrate that they had property.
  • Leo Frank Case

    Leo frank owned a pencil factory. A thirteen year old girl working there was brutaly murdered, and Leo Frank was blamed. Frank was hanged and later found innocent.

    It started on june 1914. Textile mills made fabrics. War ended on november 11,1918.
