    The Capital of Japan is moved

    In 710, the capital of Japan is moved from Asuka to Nara. The capital was modeled after Xian (China's Capital). The administration begins trying to enforce the land tax system as implemented in the Taika reforms. This was the beginning of the Nara period.

    The Completion of Kojiki

    In the year 712, the Kojiki was completed and was known as the oldest existing records in Japanese history. The Kojiki is divided into three books and recorded all of Japanese history.

    Shomu became emperor in 725. During his time being an emperor he begins the practice of degrading excess members of the imperial family.

    The Kegon sect is systematically called on to read protective sutras for the state. The Kegon was used when problems arose.

    The Yoro codes became a law in 757, these codes replaced the Taiho Ritsuryo and it was based on the Tang China laws.

    During the Heian period in 794, the capital city of Japan moves to Heian-kyo. Heian-kyo was the capital of Japan over a thousand years.

    Kukai was given permission to monastery on Mt Koya on 816.

    Taira defeated at Dannoura

    Taira was defeated in a sea battle at Dannoura. During the battle Antoku dies and the Imperial sword got lost in the sea. This was the end of the reign and supremacy of the Taira family.
