Exposure to TV and Digital Media

During this timespan, my exposure to Digital media was very minimum. Initially having no exposure at all and then gradually increasing to a point where I was watching tv for not more than a few hours a week. I was regularly exposed to digital media post-2006, so any marketings campaigns before that time were non-affective and I don't even remember any of them.
  • Olper's Ramadan Campaign

The advertisement like many others was launched in Ramadan and was very culutral oriented.

  • Knorr noodles

This was a TVC for noodles made by Knorr. Even though the brand is international but it turned out to be a hit in Pakistan. The advertisement was mainly concentrated on kids and teens (was very affective on my sister, hahah) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ki0of7Ku6M
  • National Eid TVC

This was a very well received ad. It was about two sisters who lived apart due to partition in 1947, one in Lahore (Pakistan), and the other in Delhi (India). The advertisement became famous because it was about such a controversial topic and secondly it was made about the festival of Eid, which is really close to the Muslim and in general the whole Pakistani community. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wC_vyvHA19I

  • Kurkure

The commercial had a typical set of an arranged marriage scene, but was introduced with some humour and fun. It was a light advertisement that gave everyone a good laugh during the breaks. (and of course, all the teens in Pakistan ate Kurkure) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DXK7NhYeDA
  • BlueBand (Butter Brand)

This was an add about butter aired during the Ramadan of 2013. It was very famous among people. This butter brand called BlueBand has always been very famous among kids and teens tho. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzEiFJdUOkE

  • Oreo biscuits

The advertisement was about a father and his daughter having a fun time. This was a very casual ad but it became famous because it was widely popular for being "cute" and "emotional" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTSbnuUv9iI
  • Horlicks Indian TVC

I remember this TVC being aired on Indian channels in Pakistan. So, there are many products that travel across the border on either side and horlicks is one of them. It became very famous among young kids and teens. I was first myself introduced to horlicks through an Indian TVS in late 2009 or 10 (I couldn't find the ad)

  • Lays

Lays did a campaign which turned out to be really successful. It had Lionel Messi (the international football star) and Wasim Akram (a cricket legend from Pakistan) in it. So, it turned out to be every teen's favorite advertisement. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ind5PJpqGPo
  • Nestle Everyday

This advertisement was about dry milk for tea. There are very similar adds to this one for other products and sometimes for the same products but different brands. It had Sania Mirza (an Indian tennis star) and Shoaib Malik (a Pakistan cricket star), they are both real life couple too. So, this advertisement was generally very famous among people due to their relation and the humour it had related to couple problems.

The advertisement starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui (an Indian Actor) and Ayesha Khan (Pakistani Actor), The advertisement was widely popular with the audiences because of the husband/wife humour it had and that was what made it very relatable too.
