Austria had now been absorbed by the German army and was under its rule -

This left them and Austria with no hope for control of their own country and left them weak -

France fell to Germany after they invaded France and launched an invasion
This was the end of the 9 month "Phony War" -
The Miracle at Dunkirk
After the Battle of France, 350,000 men from the British, French, and Belgium army were trapped at a port in Dunkirk, France
Boats from all over Britain came to help get as many of the soldiers out of there as possible
They also had help from the army with aerial support -

This battle was the first major battle to take place in the air with war planes
It was the biggest aerial battle to date
