Support: Take mother to the doctor and make sure she is using folic acid daily -

-Fetus can grasp and kick, can hear conversations and has regular cycles of waking and sleeping -Babies are about 12 inches and weighs a little more than a pound. They may also have eyelashes and eyebrows

*Helps mother prepare a room for the baby or special space while mother has energy. Support: Make sure that mother has good dental hygiene because during the 2nd trimester pregnant women may develop swollen, tender gums. If a mother develops gum desease, she may go into premature labor and deliver a low weight baby

*Make sure mother lies on side with a pillow under her stomach and one between her knees so that she won't lie on her back, which will reduce the blood flow to the baby. Support: Mother may be anxous about the birth which can lead to depression. Be a willing listener.
