Discuss in clas what defines a hero. Everyone writes down what they feel defines a hero and brainstorm different people we concider heroes. Read the story about a real life hero in a subway, Wesley Autrey.

Today, I discussed with my parents what this project was about and possible people I could do my project on. We came up with a small list of people I could research but none of them really struck my intrest.

At lunch, my friends and I talked about the difference between a hero and just a role model. A role model is more of just someone who you look up to and wish to be like even though they might not have actually done anything heroic but a hero is someone who has sacrificed some aspect of their life to help someone in need.

During class, we watched a recording of Mrs. Simmons interviewing a member of the peace corps. We used this to see and example of how to do our interview in our research project.

At home, I serfed the internet, looking for real life heros. I found many inspiring stories about heroic events but, most of the people the stories were about did not have a biography.

Today, when I went out to the barn to see my horse, like I do almost everyday, I realized that I should do my project on someone involved in the horse community.

I went on amazon.com and searched for biographies. After scrolling through many different biographies I found one about the first female equine veterinarian, M. Phyllis Lose. This really interested me because I want to go into that same line of work when i grow up.

In the library, I worked on my timetoast and did some research on M. Phyllis Lose.

While at the library, I found an article on M. Phyllis Lose that discussed her work ethics and some events in her life. Reading this article gave me some insight on her life and how she feels about her success.

Today, I ordered M. Phyllis Lose's autobiography, No Job For a Lady, off of Amazon.com.

My book, No Job For a Lady, came in the mail today, and I started reading it today also.

Everyday I read a part of my biography on M. Phyllis Lose.

Mrs. Wade came into class and told us about the many ways to record our interviews. She gave us some helpful hints about what to do.

Drop Everything And Read. My book has no come in the mail yet so instead of reading, I worked on my Second post on Posterous.com.

The heros in literature post was due today. This blog was about the types of heroes, perceptions of heroes, and heroes in literature.
