Book V - IV - Gondor and Minas Tirith is under attack and the gates are broken down by the armies of Mordor. Rohan arrives at the end.

Book VI - I - Sam infiltrates the tower of Cirith Ungol to save Frodo.

Book V - VI - The armies of Gondor and Rohan battle the armies of Mordor and the witch-king of Angmar is killed leaving Mordor wounded.

Book V - VII - After believing Faramir to be dead, Denethor goes mad and tries to burn him and his son like the old kings. Faramir survives but Denethor sets fire to himself.

Book V - IX - It is decided by The Captains of the West that 7000 men should march on the black gate to distract Sauron´s eye and empty his land thus give Frodo and Sam the opportunity to get to Mount Doom.

Book VI - II - Frodo and Sam are captured by a orc division believing them to be two deserting orcs and are being taken towards the Black Gates. They manage to escape and continues on their way to Mount Doom.

Book V - X - The army with Gandalf, Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas and Pippin in front talks to The Mouth of Sauron outside the Black Gate who threatens them with belongings taken from Frodo at Cirith Ungol. The armies of Mordor then proceeds to attack.

Book VI - III - Frodo and Sam reaches Mount Doom and Frodo battles Gollum over the ring. Gollum falls with the ring and Sauron is destroyed.

Book VI - IV - The eagles arrive and The Captains of the west are victorious. Frodo and Sam are rescued by Gandalf.

Book VI - V - After the battle of Cormallen Aragorn is crowned king of Gondor.

Book VI - VII - The hobbits return to the Shire to find that it has been ravaged and is now under control of Saruman. The hobbits rally the villagers and reclaims their home. Saruman is killed by Grima Wormtongue.

Book VI - IX - Frodo, Bilbo, Gandalf and the elves depart from the Grey Havens and leaves Middle Earth behind. This is were the age of man starts.
