  • First memories of being read to

    My grandmother read Winnie the Poo books to me every night

    First time being able to buy whatever books I wanted to read.

    It was hard for me to read aloud in school because I read so quickly. It was an embarrassing time for me.
  • Started to write poems and short stories

    This encouraged me to write stories of my own

    In my school it was not cool to read. So this was the point that I started to read less.

    In high school it wasn’t a weird thing to read books so I stared to read too. I also found a lot of people who liked to read the same things that I did.

    I didn’t enjoy assigned reading it made me not want to read at all. I didn’t like most of the books we read and I found myself reading less.

    I took a creative writing class that helped me to be more confident in my stories.
